Make a start

One step at a time.

3 steps

Start with the synthetic worked example or other non-sensitive inputs. Run one prompt at a time in your chosen AI tool. Replace any bracketed placeholders with the requested material, check each reply, and supply the source or earlier outputs that step needs. Paste them again if the tool lacks that context.

Start with the synthetic example, then adapt each prompt to your task.

01

Open a chat and paste the example

Open https://chatgpt.com and choose New chat. Copy every line under Input in this guide into the message box. Then add the prompt below (the instructions telling the assistant what to do) and send both together. Expect a written response shaped like the example under Output. The wording may differ. If the assistant asks for information already in the input, point to that line; if a necessary fact is missing, keep it unknown rather than guessing.

Your starting prompt
Use the complete supplied phrase bank and role-play instructions above. First show the five-line model with roles and matching English meanings. Then start a fresh practice by giving only the staff opening and wait for me. Introduce no new Spanish phrases, real location claim or pronunciation claim.
02

Check the model, then take your turn

Compare every Spanish line and meaning with the five supplied phrases. After the model, the assistant must give only the opening question and wait rather than continuing both roles. Compare it with the Input yourself. If the response fails a check, paste the correction prompt below into the same chat. Recheck the corrected version before saving it. After the assistant gives the staff opening, reply: Busco un libro de historia. Expect: La sección de historia está al fondo. Then reply: Gracias. Expect: De nada. Continue one staff turn at a time. If it speaks your part or adds new Spanish, use the correction prompt and resume from the staff opening.

Your starting prompt
Check the dialogue against the exact phrase bank. Replace any new phrase with a supplied one, preserve role order and matching meanings, then restart with only the staff opening. Wait for my response. On later turns, speak only the staff part and wait after each line for my visitor reply.
03

Try it with your own example

Open a new chat. Copy the prompt below, then replace [PASTE YOUR INPUT HERE] with your own non-sensitive facts and rules. Include the kinds of details listed under Requirements. Send the whole message. Expect the same kind of result as this guide, using your values. Compare every name, number and rule with your input. If something differs, point to the exact mismatch and ask for a corrected complete answer. Save only a version you have checked.

Your starting prompt
Use only my supplied phrase bank, meanings and role-play sequence below. First show the model with speaker roles and the given meanings. Then start a new practice with only the first line assigned to your role and wait for my turn. Do not invent phrases, translations, pronunciation guidance or real-location claims.

Use only the new input below. If a fact needed to finish is missing, ask me for it before choosing an answer.

Optional: improve the result

Practise without the English scaffold

Remove translations while preserving the same bounded vocabulary and turn-taking. This extension uses the worked example. Return to that example chat, or paste its input and your checked example answer into a new chat first. Do not apply its sample values unchanged to your own input.

Advanced prompt
Restart the same library role-play without English translations. Use only the supplied Spanish phrase bank, one staff turn at a time. If my answer does not fit, give a short English hint and let me try again instead of speaking my part.
Show, then try

This input is synthetic. The output is a written illustration of the intended result, not a verified AI-tool run.

The starting point

Synthetic input
Made-up example for practice.

Made-up adult Spanish practice at a library. Use only this supplied phrase bank for Spanish dialogue: “Hola. ¿Qué buscas?” = “Hello. What are you looking for?”; “Busco un libro de historia.” = “I am looking for a history book.”; “La sección de historia está al fondo.” = “The history section is at the back.”; “Gracias.” = “Thank you.”; “De nada.” = “You’re welcome.” Roles: assistant plays library staff; learner plays visitor. Task: show one five-line model dialogue with roles and English meanings, then begin a fresh practice turn with only the staff’s opening and wait. Do not claim that any real library has that layout.

Copies text only. For image or file tasks, use the source files named in the steps too.

The intended result

Illustrative output
Written example for practice; not a recorded AI response.

Model dialogue
Staff: Hola. ¿Qué buscas? — Hello. What are you looking for?
Visitor: Busco un libro de historia. — I am looking for a history book.
Staff: La sección de historia está al fondo. — The history section is at the back.
Visitor: Gracias. — Thank you.
Staff: De nada. — You’re welcome.
Now practise. I will play the staff member and wait for your response.
Staff: Hola. ¿Qué buscas?
[Wait for the learner. This is a fictional language exercise, not directions to a real library.]

You’re the final check

Check the worked example.

These checks use the worked example and its particular facts. With your own material, check your actual names, numbers, sources and rules; do not reuse the sample’s values as the answer.

Unsaved checks stay in this tab and reset when you reload. If you choose Save guide, its current example checkmarks are kept in this browser when storage is available.

A few things to watch for.

  • A beginner practice can become harder without warning if the assistant adds vocabulary. Keep the phrase boundary explicit.
  • Text dialogue alone does not check pronunciation or real-world understanding.
