A factual guide to this library’s browser features and optional email signup. Updated 14 October 2026.
Using the library
Search and filtering run in your browser. We have not added analytics, advertising scripts, accounts, file uploads or an AI connection to this library. Pages, fonts, images and guide data are static files served by the hosting service.
Your explicit light/dark choice is saved in local storage. Unsaved checklist choices last in the current tab and reset on reload. If you explicitly save a guide, its bookmark and worked-example checkmarks are stored in this browser when storage is available. The saved record contains the guide ID, saved and last-opened times, an example revision, and marked check numbers. It does not store your prompt, input, output or search text. Saved guides are not synced. You can remove one guide or use Clear saved guides; neither action changes your theme. If storage fails, the interface explains when changes last only for the current tab. An older device copy may remain after a failed write. Search text can appear after the # in your browser’s address bar for navigation. An unfinished home search can remain in the current browser-history entry, but is not saved to localStorage. Avoid sensitive searches and URLs you would not want to share.
Saved guides and example checks stay in this browser and web address. Open your earlier Surge saves in the same browser; they do not transfer automatically.
Your browser still makes network requests to load the site. Browser-only search is not a promise that a hosting provider keeps no request records. We do not claim a verified host-retention period.
If you choose email updates
Email signup opens a separate Kit-hosted page. If you enter your email there and choose to subscribe, Kit collects it for the Usewright newsletter. Usewright uses your email to send these updates through Kit. It is optional: every guide and the RSS feed are available without subscribing. This library does not embed the Kit form or send your search or prompt text to Kit.
Review the signup page’s stated cadence and consent wording. Kit’s subscriber service can also process delivery and interaction information under its terms; the absence of analytics in this library does not describe every provider feature.
- Kit’s website and service privacy policy describes its own services and explicitly distinguishes newsletter-subscriber processing.
- Kit’s subscriber-data processing terms describe that separate processing relationship.
- Kit’s service terms provide additional provider information.
These links explain the provider’s stated practices. They do not establish that every setting for this newsletter has been independently audited.
Unsubscribe or ask a question
Kit provides an unsubscribe link in newsletter emails. Use it to stop messages from the list, or contact topdawg@mail.grokbot.com for help with your subscription or information.
Kit documents unsubscribing and deletion as different actions: unsubscribing does not automatically remove all historical records. We do not promise an unverified retention period or automatic deletion.
The public signup page and link have been inspected. Confirmation-email delivery, subscriber-state changes and unsubscribe behavior have not yet been verified end to end for this newsletter. A visible form does not establish those outcomes.
Prompts and external tools
You choose whether to copy a prompt into another service. Its own terms and data practices then apply. Start with the synthetic examples, remove private information and get any needed permissions before sharing real material.
For questions about this library or updates, contact topdawg@mail.grokbot.com. This page describes the current setup; it does not claim legal compliance or fully audited provider practices.
