Make a start

One step at a time.

3 steps

Start with the synthetic worked example or other non-sensitive inputs. Run one prompt at a time in your chosen AI tool. Replace any bracketed placeholders with the requested material, check each reply, and supply the source or earlier outputs that step needs. Paste them again if the tool lacks that context.

Start with the synthetic example, then adapt each prompt to your task.

01

Open a chat and paste the example

Open https://chatgpt.com and choose New chat. Copy every line under Input in this guide into the message box. Then add the prompt below (the instructions telling the assistant what to do) and send both together. Expect a written response shaped like the example under Output. The wording may differ. If the assistant asks for information already in the input, point to that line; if a necessary fact is missing, keep it unknown rather than guessing.

Your starting prompt
Make a private owner-led booking-call checklist from the full brief above. Include both exact windows, the Thursday preference, all four questions and blank spaces for answers. Emphasize that the complete appointment must fit. Do not invent availability or prices, call anyone, share identity or book anything.
02

Check the specific result

Check the two dates and both window endpoints. A 13:30 start on Thursday is not known to fit until duration is supplied. All price, duration, cancellation and preparation answers should still be blank. Compare it with the Input yourself. If the response fails a check, paste the correction prompt below into the same chat. Recheck the corrected version before saving it.

Your starting prompt
Recheck the call checklist against the original dates, time windows and four questions. Remove any invented slot, duration, price or booking claim. Preserve Thursday as a preference rather than a confirmed appointment. Check both the start and finish boundaries, not just the finish time.
03

Try it with your own example

Open a new chat. Copy the prompt below, then replace [PASTE YOUR INPUT HERE] with your own non-sensitive facts and rules. Include the kinds of details listed under Requirements. Send the whole message. Expect the same kind of result as this guide, using your values. Compare every name, number and rule with your input. If something differs, point to the exact mismatch and ask for a corrected complete answer. Save only a version you have checked.

Your starting prompt
Make a private booking-call checklist using my brief below. Include every availability window, preference and question I supply, with blank spaces for answers. Check that the whole appointment would need to fit in an available window. Do not invent availability or prices, call anyone, share identity or book anything.

Use only the new input below. If a fact needed to finish is missing, ask me for it before choosing an answer.

Optional: improve the result

Evaluate a supplied offer without booking

Compare actual options someone provides and leave confirmation with the owner. This extension uses the worked example. Return to that example chat, or paste its input and your checked example answer into a new chat first. Do not apply its sample values unchanged to your own input.

Advanced prompt
New made-up offers: Tuesday at 18:15 for 60 minutes; Thursday at 12:30 for 45 minutes. Compare both with the original windows and preference. Identify which fits, calculate finish times, and keep price and cancellation terms unresolved. Do not book.
Show, then try

This input is synthetic. The output is a written illustration of the intended result, not a verified AI-tool run.

The starting point

Synthetic input
Made-up example for practice. Adult customer wants to enquire about a standard haircut at a salon they already chose. Available windows in the salon’s local time: Tuesday 20 October 2026, 17:00–19:00; Thursday 22 October 2026, 12:00–14:00. The complete appointment must fit within one window. Preferred day: Thursday, if both fit. Service length and total price are unknown. Ask about duration, total price, any cancellation charge or notice rule, and whether preparation is needed. No customer identity, phone number, booking, deposit or payment is supplied or authorized. Produce a private checklist for the customer to use on a call.

Copies text only. For image or file tasks, use the source files named in the steps too.

The intended result

Illustrative output
Written example for practice; not a recorded AI response.

Before calling
Keep both availability windows in front of you. Thursday is preferred, but only if the full appointment fits 12:00–14:00.
Opening question
“Hello, I’d like to ask about a standard haircut. Do you have an appointment on Thursday 22 October that starts no earlier than 12:00 and finishes by 14:00? My alternative is Tuesday 20 October, starting no earlier than 17:00 and finishing by 19:00.”
Before deciding, ask
- How long is the complete appointment?
- What is the total price for this service?
- What cancellation notice or charges apply?
- Is any preparation needed?
Write down: offered date/time ____; duration ____; finish time ____; total price ____; cancellation terms ____; preparation ____.
Check both the start and finish against the window before agreeing. No appointment, fee or available slot has been confirmed.

You’re the final check

Check the worked example.

These checks use the worked example and its particular facts. With your own material, check your actual names, numbers, sources and rules; do not reuse the sample’s values as the answer.

Unsaved checks stay in this tab and reset when you reload. If you choose Save guide, its current example checkmarks are kept in this browser when storage is available.

A few things to watch for.

  • A start time inside a window may still finish too late. Ask for duration before agreeing.
  • A draft call card does not authorize booking, sharing details or accepting charges.
