What you’re working towards

A round-by-round adult pairing schedule, pair-coverage matrix and partner ledger, with an optional separate odd-count sit-out extension. This is a written practice result, not a recorded AI run.

Make a start

One step at a time.

3 steps

Start with the synthetic worked example or other non-sensitive inputs. Run one prompt at a time in your chosen AI tool. Replace any bracketed placeholders with the requested material, check each reply, and supply the source or earlier outputs that step needs. Paste them again if the tool lacks that context.

Start with the synthetic example, then adapt each prompt to your task.

01

Try the complete example

Open a text AI chat you already have permission to use. Paste the whole prompt below, from TASK through END INPUT, and send it. The input is source material; do not paste the illustrative Output as an answer to imitate. Expect A round-by-round adult pairing schedule, pair-coverage matrix and partner ledger, with an optional separate odd-count sit-out extension. If you receive advice instead of the result, ask for the complete requested result from the supplied input.

Your starting prompt
TASK
Create a complete three-round pairing plan under the supplied uniqueness and timing rules. Return timed rounds, symmetric pair-coverage matrix, per-token partner ledger and an unordered-pair audit. Do not infer personal compatibility or silently omit a token.

INPUT
Fictional adult participants A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H. Three rounds of 5 minutes, with a 1-minute transition only between rounds. Start at elapsed minute 0. Each token has exactly one partner each round. An unordered pair may occur only once across the plan: A–B equals B–A. No personality traits, compatibility assumptions or real identities. Return full timed rounds, a pair-coverage matrix and each token’s partner list. No sit-outs for this even-count baseline. Do not claim everyone meets everyone or that a real event has run.
END INPUT
02

Check and correct

For each round, cross off A–H exactly once. Count four pairs in each round and 12 distinct unordered keys overall. Compare matrix cells across the diagonal and with the round list. Each token has three distinct partners. Recalculate 15 minutes of conversations plus two 1-minute transitions = 17; no sit-outs or claim of full pair coverage. Compare with the unchanged source yourself. If anything differs, use the correction prompt, then recheck the complete replacement before saving.

Your starting prompt
Check the answer in this sample chat against the complete INPUT above. Quote each mismatch and its source, then return a complete corrected replacement. If source or answer is missing, ask for it. Do not describe a suggested human trial as completed.
03

Use your own source instead

Open a new chat and copy the prompt below. Replace every bracketed field with your own permitted non-sensitive material, or write unknown. Change the source names, counts, dates and rules together wherever they occur. Expect a complete result using those new values. Compare each source link and calculation with your new input, using the review instructions in this prompt. If a fact or rule is wrong, quote the mismatch and source and ask for a complete corrected replacement; keep essential unknowns held rather than borrowing the practice values.

Your starting prompt
Plan my adult-token mixer from the participant list, number of rounds, conversation lengths, transitions and pairing restrictions. Give each token exactly the participation required by my rules, with no repeated unordered pair. Handle odd counts using my explicit sit-out rule and report infeasibility rather than inventing permission for triples or repeated rests. Return timed rounds, a pair-coverage matrix, per-token partners/sit-outs and counts recalculated from MY INPUT. Check every token per round, normalize unordered pair keys, verify sit-out limits and add only the stated between-round transitions. Do not infer compatibility or claim the schedule has run.

MY INPUT
Adult participant tokens: [replace with your source or rule]
Number and length of rounds: [replace with your source or rule]
Transition interval: [replace with your source or rule]
No-repeat pairing rule: [replace with your source or rule]
Explicit odd-count sit-out rule: [replace with your source or rule]

Use only MY INPUT for facts, quantities, names, dates and permissions. Ask for missing essential facts or conflicting rules instead of guessing. Creative invention is allowed only where this task and my boundaries permit it. Return the actual complete requested result, a separate unknown/hold list and the source-specific review described above. Do not reuse practice-example facts. Keep this a draft; do not publish, contact people, book, buy or change another service.
Optional: improve the result

Add one adult with visible sit-outs

Optional, sample-only extension. Return to the practice chat, or paste this guide’s complete practice input and your checked answer into a new chat. Test the odd-count case as a separate schedule. This does not apply unchanged to your own source.

Advanced prompt
Replace the sample participant set with A–I. Keep three 5-minute rounds and two 1-minute transitions. Require four pairs and exactly one sit-out per round; no token may sit out twice and no pair may repeat. Return the full separate schedule, per-token ledger and unique pair/sit-out audit. Do not call unequal talk counts equal participation. If the complete sample input or answer is missing, ask me to paste it. Keep new variants separate from the original result.

The intended result

Illustrative output
ILLUSTRATIVE AUTHORED OUTPUT
Written for this guide; no consumer AI execution or real-world trial is claimed.

TIMED ROUNDS
Round 1, 0:00–5:00: A–H, B–G, C–F, D–E.
Transition, 5:00–6:00.
Round 2, 6:00–11:00: A–G, H–F, B–E, C–D.
Transition, 11:00–12:00.
Round 3, 12:00–17:00: A–F, G–E, H–D, B–C.
Total: 3×5 + 2×1 = 17 minutes. No transition is added after the final round.

PAIR-COVERAGE MATRIX
Cell = round number; . = this pair does not meet; — = same person.
    A B C D E F G H
A — . . . . 3 2 1
B . — 3 . 2 . 1 .
C . 3 — 2 . 1 . .
D . . 2 — 1 . . 3
E . 2 . 1 — . 3 .
F 3 . 1 . . — . 2
G 2 1 . . 3 . — .
H 1 . . 3 . 2 . —

PER-TOKEN PARTNERS, ROUNDS 1/2/3
A: H/G/F; B: G/E/C; C: F/D/B; D: E/C/H.
E: D/B/G; F: C/H/A; G: B/A/E; H: A/F/D.
Every token appears once per round and has three different partners. Twelve unordered keys: AH,BG,CF,DE,AG,FH,BE,CD,AF,EG,DH,BC; all unique. There are 24 participant appearances = 8×3 = 12×2. Sit-outs: none.
This covers 12 of the 28 possible unordered pairs among eight tokens, not all possible meetings. Timing is a proposed programme, not measured conversation behavior.

You’re the final check

Check the worked example.

These checks use the worked example and its particular facts. With your own material, check your actual names, numbers, sources and rules; do not reuse the sample’s values as the answer.

Unsaved checks stay in this tab and reset when you reload. If you choose Save guide, its current example checkmarks are kept in this browser when storage is available.

A few things to watch for.

  • A–B and B–A are the same pair. Normalize order before checking duplicates.
  • An odd participant count needs a visible sit-out or an explicitly approved different grouping rule. Do not hide one person.
