Make a start
One step at a time.
3 steps
Start with the synthetic worked example or other non-sensitive inputs. Run one prompt at a time in your chosen AI tool. Replace any bracketed placeholders with the requested material, check each reply, and supply the source or earlier outputs that step needs. Paste them again if the tool lacks that context.
Start with the synthetic example, then adapt each prompt to your task.
01
Try the complete example
Open a text AI chat you already have permission to use. Paste the whole prompt below, from TASK through END INPUT, and send it. The input is source material; do not paste the illustrative Output as an answer to imitate. Expect A modular mural plan, participant tile briefs, a joining map and a complete edge-matching ledger. If you receive advice instead of the result, ask for the complete requested result from the supplied input.
Your starting prompt
TASK
Write the complete modular mural text plan, with shared coordinate/orientation rules, all nine maker briefs, joining map and exact eight-edge ledger. Preserve the route, palette, widths and creative freedom inside the boundaries. Include an explicitly unperformed tabletop draft-assembly gate. Do not claim finished art, printing or physical fit.
INPUT
Complete synthetic adult paper-mural brief; text planning only. Nine square paper tiles, each 100 mm ×100 mm, form rows A,B,C from top to bottom and columns 1,2,3 left to right. Assembly has no gaps or overlap in the intended geometry. Every tile has its own local coordinates: origin (0,0) top-left, x to the right, y downward. N midpoint=(50,0), E=(100,50), S=(50,100), W=(0,50). Put tile ID and a TOP arrow on the back, with TOP toward the local north edge; do not rotate tiles in assembly.
A single blue ribbon follows tile centres in this exact route: A1,A2,A3,B3,B2,B1,C1,C2,C3. It begins at A1’s centre and ends at C3’s centre. At every shared-edge crossing it is exactly 10 mm wide, centred on the edge midpoint (edge span 45–55 mm), and crosses perpendicular to the edge. No ribbon crosses other edges.
Palette only blue, yellow, white. Adult makers may invent interior decoration but must preserve the blue route and fixed edge ports. Keep decoration within the tile without creating extra ribbon-like crossings. Return nine independent tile briefs, a 3×3 joining map, eight edge matches and a tabletop paper-draft trial gate. No artwork, printing, cutting, painting or physical-fit test has occurred.

Check and correct
Account for all nine IDs once in the map and briefs, and all eight consecutive route joins. Check each join pairs adjacent opposite edges with centre coordinate 50 and span 45–55; sixteen ports total and two interior endpoints. Lay paper drafts in the actual map before any fit claim. TOP stays up; no tile rotates to conceal a mismatch. Compare with the unchanged source yourself. If anything differs, use the correction prompt, then recheck the complete replacement before saving.
Your starting prompt
Check the answer in this sample chat against the complete INPUT above. Quote each mismatch and its source, then return a complete corrected replacement. If source or answer is missing, ask for it. Do not describe a suggested human trial as completed.
03
Use your own source instead
Open a new chat and copy the prompt below. Replace every bracketed field with your own permitted non-sensitive material, or write unknown. Change the source names, counts, dates and rules together wherever they occur. Expect a complete result using those new values. Compare each source link and calculation with your new input, using the review instructions in this prompt. If a fact or rule is wrong, quote the mismatch and source and ask for a complete corrected replacement; keep essential unknowns held rather than borrowing the practice values.
Your starting prompt
Plan a collaborative tiled artwork from my tile dimensions, grid, coordinate convention, route, palette and fixed joining rules. Return a shared maker rule, one complete brief per tile, an assembly map and one record per intended join giving both tile IDs, opposite edges, coordinates, widths and colours. Preserve contributor freedom only within the allowed interior; prohibit unintended boundary crossings. Derive tile and join counts from MY INPUT, and hold missing orientation or contradictory ports. Review adjacency, transformed coordinates and route continuity, then provide an unperformed paper-draft assembly trial for actual alignment and fit. Do not claim rendered art, printing, painting or a completed physical test.
MY INPUT
Tile dimensions and IDs: [replace with your source or rule]
Assembly order: [replace with your source or rule]
Exact shared-edge connections: [replace with your source or rule]
Allowed palette: [replace with your source or rule]
Contributor freedom and exclusions: [replace with your source or rule]
Coordinate/orientation convention, ribbon width and endpoint rules: [replace with your source or rule]
Use only MY INPUT for facts, quantities, names, dates and permissions. Ask for missing essential facts or conflicting rules instead of guessing. Creative invention is allowed only where this task and my boundaries permit it. Return the actual complete requested result, a separate unknown/hold list and the source-specific review described above. Do not reuse practice-example facts. Keep this a draft; do not publish, contact people, book, buy or change another service.
Optional: improve the result
Review a reversed tile
Optional, sample-only extension. Return to the practice chat, or paste this guide’s complete practice input and your checked answer into a new chat. Detect a common assembly mistake without altering the approved route. This does not apply unchanged to your own source.
Advanced prompt
In a hypothetical draft trial for this sample, B2 was rotated 90 degrees clockwise while its artwork stayed fixed. Explain which intended E/W ports no longer meet their neighbours and what must be corrected. Do not redefine the route or rotate neighbouring tiles to hide the error. If the complete sample input or answer is missing, ask me to paste it. Keep new variants separate from the original result.

ASSEMBLY MAP, TOP AT TOP
A1 | A2 | A3
B1 | B2 | B3
C1 | C2 | C3
Intended overall geometry: 300 mm wide ×300 mm high, before any real material/cutting tolerance. No fit is verified.
SHARED MAKER RULE
Each tile is 100×100 mm. Local origin top-left; x right, y down. Back label: its exact ID plus TOP arrow toward N. All boundary ports are blue, 10 mm wide and perpendicular to the edge, spanning 45–55 mm about that edge’s midpoint. Only the listed ports may cross edges. Keep the stated route through centre (50,50); decorate the remaining interior using blue/yellow/white without obscuring that route or adding edge crossings. Do not rotate the tile to fix a mismatch.
NINE INDIVIDUAL BRIEFS
A1: Start ribbon at centre (50,50), run to E (100,50). One E port, 10 mm wide. No N/S/W crossing. Back: A1, TOP toward N. Interior decoration is yours within the shared rule.
A2: W (0,50) → centre (50,50) → E (100,50). W and E ports each 10 mm. No N/S crossing. Back: A2, TOP toward N. Decorate inside the shared rule.
A3: W (0,50) → centre (50,50) → S (50,100). W/S ports each 10 mm. No N/E crossing. Back: A3, TOP toward N. Decorate inside the shared rule.
B3: N (50,0) → centre (50,50) → W (0,50). N/W ports each 10 mm. No E/S crossing. Back: B3, TOP toward N. Decorate inside the shared rule.
B2: E (100,50) → centre (50,50) → W (0,50). E/W ports each 10 mm. No N/S crossing. Back: B2, TOP toward N. Decorate inside the shared rule.
B1: E (100,50) → centre (50,50) → S (50,100). E/S ports each 10 mm. No N/W crossing. Back: B1, TOP toward N. Decorate inside the shared rule.
C1: N (50,0) → centre (50,50) → E (100,50). N/E ports each 10 mm. No S/W crossing. Back: C1, TOP toward N. Decorate inside the shared rule.
C2: W (0,50) → centre (50,50) → E (100,50). W/E ports each 10 mm. No N/S crossing. Back: C2, TOP toward N. Decorate inside the shared rule.
C3: W (0,50) → centre (50,50), ending there. One W port, 10 mm. No N/E/S crossing. Back: C3, TOP toward N. Decorate inside the shared rule.
Give each maker their brief together with the complete shared rule; the brief alone omits the coordinate convention and edge span.
EIGHT EDGE-MATCH RECORDS
J1 A1 E(100,50) ↔ A2 W(0,50), both blue 10 mm, span 45–55.
J2 A2 E(100,50) ↔ A3 W(0,50), both blue 10 mm, span 45–55.
J3 A3 S(50,100) ↔ B3 N(50,0), both blue 10 mm, span 45–55.
J4 B3 W(0,50) ↔ B2 E(100,50), both blue 10 mm, span 45–55.
J5 B2 W(0,50) ↔ B1 E(100,50), both blue 10 mm, span 45–55.
J6 B1 S(50,100) ↔ C1 N(50,0), both blue 10 mm, span 45–55.
J7 C1 E(100,50) ↔ C2 W(0,50), both blue 10 mm, span 45–55.
J8 C2 E(100,50) ↔ C3 W(0,50), both blue 10 mm, span 45–55.
Each join pairs opposite edges on adjacent tiles. Sixteen boundary ports serve eight joins; the two route ends are interior, not outside the mural.
UNPERFORMED TABLETOP GATE
Make disposable paper drafts with ID/TOP marks and port lines, then place all nine in the map without rotation. Trace from A1’s centre to C3’s centre through all eight joins. Measure actual alignment/width and look for unintended crossings before decoration or permanent assembly. If a join fails, identify both tile IDs and revise the relevant draft briefs; do not rotate a tile to hide it. Mathematical matching is not proof of actual paper dimensions, visual quality or physical fit.
These checks use the worked example and its particular facts. With your own material, check your actual names, numbers, sources and rules; do not reuse the sample’s values as the answer.
Unsaved checks stay in this tab and reset when you reload. If you choose Save guide, its current example checkmarks are kept in this browser when storage is available.
!
A few things to watch for.
Matching edge colours is not enough: orientation, midpoint, width and which neighbour must also match.
A mathematically consistent plan can still fail when paper is cut or placed. Keep a real tabletop trial before permanent assembly.
