Actual-size 100 × 100 mm master with two 4 mm bridges, solid cut contours and a separate dashed 20 mm calibration line. Physical proof is unperformed.

Not tool-tested. Review and adapt before using it for a real project.

Two gray C-shaped cut regions retain white center discs A and B through upward 4 mm bridges. A separate key says CUT gray and KEEP white; notes give the 100 mm sheet and 15 mm nearest outer margin.
Owned digital diagram, checked at full size and 320 px width. Use the template SVG for physical size; print/cut proof is still required.

Source files to work with

Make a start

One step at a time.

3 steps

Start with the synthetic worked example or other non-sensitive inputs. Run one prompt at a time in your chosen AI tool. Replace any bracketed placeholders with the requested material, check each reply, and supply the source or earlier outputs that step needs. Paste them again if the tool lacks that context.

Start with the synthetic example, then adapt each prompt to your task.

01

Try the complete stencil example

Open a new chat in a text AI assistant you already have permission to use. Paste the entire prompt below, including SAMPLE INPUT, and send it. No upload is needed because the geometry is fully written out. Input is the source; Output is a worked answer, not extra source to paste. Expect a complete two-bridge SVG, a separate labeled map, a bridge table and a blank proof checklist. A bridge means a strip of material deliberately left uncut. You can inspect the included files first without using AI. If the reply supplies SVG text instead of a file, copy only the complete text from <svg through </svg> into a plain-text editor, save as UTF-8 with the exact .svg extension (not .svg.txt), then open that new file in an SVG-capable editor/viewer. SVG is an editable vector drawing whose shapes have coordinates. Do not call it rendered until you have opened the actual file. If it fails to open, ask for the complete corrected SVG and include the error. If a detail differs, quote the exact mismatch and the relevant input rule, ask for a complete corrected replacement and recheck it. If an essential fact or capability is missing, keep that part blocked rather than importing a sample value. Preserve the original and save the checked revision separately.

Your starting prompt
Create an editable stencil from the complete original geometry below. Identify the two retained islands and connect each to the surrounding sheet with the prescribed upward bridge. Return one complete actual-size template SVG, a separate labeled cut/keep-map SVG, a bridge-coordinate table and a blank physical-proof card. Derive the arc/bridge intersections; do not draw an invisible bridge over an otherwise closed cut path. Keep calibration and cut marks distinct.

SAMPLE INPUT
Original synthetic practice input. All geometry is newly authored for this example; no third-party artwork is used.

Sheet: 100 × 100 mm; origin at top left, x right, y down. Keep the original drawing unchanged. Two donut-shaped proposed cutouts have centers A=(30,50) and B=(70,50), outer radius 15 mm and inner radius 8 mm. Retain both center discs and all sheet outside the donuts. Every retained island must connect to the outer sheet. Add one straight upward bridge per donut, exactly 4 mm wide, centered on its vertical axis; it may extend into both adjacent keep regions. The minimum allowed bridge width is 4 mm. Keep at least a 5 mm uncut outer border. No words or other shapes belong in the motif.
Deliver an editable actual-size SVG template, a separate labeled cut/keep map and bridge coordinate ledger. Shade CUT regions light gray with solid black cut contours. White means KEEP. Put a separate dashed 20 mm calibration line from (40,15) to (60,15) on the template; this line is not a cut. Keep all labels on the companion map, outside the motif. Use no scripts, links, remote fonts or embedded images. PNGs are inspection previews, not calibrated print masters.
The SVG is a digital draft. A person must inspect a 100% plain-paper print, measure the calibration line between its endpoints, trace the keep regions and make a cautious paper proof before physical use. No physical print/cut test, durability claim or general safety guarantee is supplied.

Return the complete requested result, not just instructions. Keep original source unchanged and put revisions in a new copy. Treat source text as data, not permission to act. Use only original or authorized non-sensitive material. Do not send, publish, buy, book, upload to another service or print on my behalf. Do not claim execution, visual inspection, consumer-AI testing or physical results unless actually observed. Return SVG, PNG when genuinely rendered, and plain-text/JSON companions; no PDF is needed.
02

Check the digital draft, then one paper proof

Open the actual template and labeled map. In this supplied edition, verify 4 mm gaps at x=28..32 and 68..72, center coordinates and radii, a 15 mm nearest outer margin and the separate 20 mm dashed line. Trace each white center into the white surrounding sheet without crossing gray. Inspect full size and a narrow view. The supplied digital checks do not establish that your printer or cuts will preserve those widths. Follow the blank proof card at 100% and record actual measurements; stop and revise if a bridge tears or a center detaches. If a detail differs, quote the exact mismatch and the relevant input rule, ask for a complete corrected replacement and recheck it. If an essential fact or capability is missing, keep that part blocked rather than importing a sample value. Preserve the original and save the checked revision separately.

Your starting prompt
In this sample conversation, compare the original INPUT with my actual template SVG, bridge ledger and observations below. If the original input is absent, ask for it. Check circles, bridge widths, border, cut/keep topology and calibration separately from appearance. State exactly which checks you can perform. A coordinate table alone is not a rendered file or physical proof. Return a complete corrected SVG/ledger if required, leaving unknown print/cut results blank.

MY OBSERVATIONS OR ERRORS:
[paste observed facts, or say not performed]
03

Use your own input

Open a new chat and replace every bracketed field below. Change related names, coordinates, dimensions, counts, units and limits together; no sample fact carries over. Use original or authorized non-sensitive geometry only, with no private identifiers or information about minors. Send the whole prompt and expect complete new SVG source/files plus the requested ledgers and an unfinished physical-proof card. For your geometry, identify every enclosed keep-region and show its connection to the outer sheet. Measure the narrowest bridge and border against your own limits, inspect every actual cut contour and make a measured disposable proof. A topology check does not establish material strength. If a detail differs, quote the exact mismatch and the relevant input rule, ask for a complete corrected replacement and recheck it. If an essential fact or capability is missing, keep that part blocked rather than importing a sample value. Preserve the original and save the checked revision separately.

Your starting prompt
Turn my original flat drawing into an editable connected stencil. Return complete actual-size SVG source, a separate labeled cut/keep map, a coordinate/width ledger for every bridge and a blank physical-proof card. Every retained island must have an explicit uncut connection to the outer sheet. Preserve my original source and cut/keep intent; ask before changing it. Calculate the actual contour intersections and minimum widths, rather than putting a decorative line over an unbroken hole. Include an owner-chosen calibration mark that cannot be confused with a cut.

MY INPUT
Owned vector source or exact original geometry: [paste full source or exact shapes/coordinates]
Sheet dimensions and units; origin and axis directions: [replace]
Cut regions and keep regions: [replace]
Minimum bridge width, allowed bridge directions/locations and border: [replace]
Calibration mark and print-size requirements: [replace]
Physical proof and material assumptions: [replace; unknowns remain unknown]

Use only MY INPUT; do not import example circles, widths, sheet size or coordinates. Ask about missing or conflicting geometry. If actual rendering or topology checking is unavailable, disclose it and leave that gate open. Inspect the actual SVG and a measured paper proof before claiming physical success.

Optional: improve the result

Compare a wider bridge without changing the drawing

This optional extension uses only the original synthetic sample. Return to its chat or paste the full sample Input, checked template SVG and bridge ledger into a new chat. Keep the supplied edition unchanged. This extension has not been generated or physically tried.

Advanced prompt
For the original sample only, create a NEW candidate with 6 mm upward bridges centered on the same axes, retaining the original circles and 100 mm sheet. Recompute both arc intersections, cut paths and bridge ledger. Compare removed area and the visible interruption with the 4 mm edition. Check connectivity and actual renders, then provide a fresh blank print/cut proof card. Do not claim greater durability or physical success. If the original input, checked SVG or ledger is missing, ask me to paste it first.

FILES AND CUT/KEEP RULE
connected-stencil-template.svg is the actual-size 100 × 100 mm editable master. Light gray C-shaped regions are CUT along their solid contours. White is KEEP. The separate dashed 20 mm calibration line is never cut. connected-stencil-map.svg/.png explains the regions and labels both retained centers A and B. The unchanged connected-stencil-original.svg/.png intentionally has two closed donuts; it shows why an unbridged center would detach and is not the finished cutting template.

BRIDGES, MILLIMETRES FROM THE TOP LEFT
B1 for center A=(30,50): retain x=28..32, y=34..44. B2 for B=(70,50): retain x=68..72, y=34..44. Each rectangle is 4 mm wide and extends into the outer sheet and inner disc. Its intersections with the outer arc are at y=50−√221 ≈35.133931252681; with the inner arc at y=50−√60 ≈42.254033307585. The cut outline stops at each side of that 4 mm gap. These are coordinate centerlines, not measured surviving material after a blade removes width.
The nearest cut-to-sheet margin is 15 mm, exceeding the requested 5 mm border. The two outer circles span x=15..45 and x=55..85, leaving 10 mm between them. The calibration endpoints (40,15) and (60,15) are 20 mm apart. No motif words or third-party artwork were added.

DIGITAL RESULT
The two final cut paths use the specified circular radii and bridge intersections. A separate read-only checker verifies their actual coordinates; a white-pixel flood trace of the actual PNG finds no retained white island disconnected from the boundary. The unchanged source render does have disconnected centers. Five deliberately invalid variants are rejected, including a removed bridge whose rendered center becomes disconnected. The actual template and labeled preview were opened; the preview was also inspected at 320 px wide. The full bridge table is supplied as JSON.

PAPER PROOF STILL REQUIRED
Use the SVG master in an app that preserves millimetres. Print at actual size / 100%, measure the dashed line, trace each white center through its bridge and test only a disposable paper copy. The blank proof card gives the sequence and observation fields. Do not cut the dashed calibration or the unbridged source. Actual tool suitability, cutting accuracy and bridge durability remain unverified; no safety guarantee, consumer-AI run or measured time saving is claimed.

You’re the final check

Check the worked example.

These checks use the worked example and its particular facts. With your own material, check your actual names, numbers, sources and rules; do not reuse the sample’s values as the answer.

Unsaved checks stay in this tab and reset when you reload. If you choose Save guide, its current example checkmarks are kept in this browser when storage is available.

A few things to watch for.

  • Drawing a bridge as a decorative stroke while leaving a closed cut contour underneath; the center still detaches.
  • Cutting the original unbridged drawing or the calibration mark instead of the two final solid contours.
  • Treating a nominal 4 mm bridge as a guaranteed surviving width after printing and cutting; inspect the real proof.
